It finally happened, we're organizing another Overprinted tournament in Spain!

The Booklet

We put together a booklet with the basic instructions about Overprinted as a format, even includes the short story "The Duel" to make the page count just right ;)

If you want to download it just click HERE and you'll get a PDF to print. You'll need to print the paper on both sides, cut in the middle, fold, assemble and staple if you fancy it :)

Easter Tournament at the Rotary Pub

 It happened, in Sweden, at the pub were the Old School MTG tournaments where happening a long time ago, where the original N00bcon was played for many years.

So out of respect for the place and the history it held on regards to Old School magic we had to desecrate it. Out of love mind you.

Hence the Easter at the Rotary tournament happened, where a bunch of secretly recruited players battled head on with their piles of cardboard.

First of all, the prize, the BIG ONE, signed in all it's glory. The easter brass man!

Then the winning deck, that made sure to pack A LOT of Derelors, the spicy four four for four that Fallen Empires brought to the table:

Keep in mind, the games were cutthroat, no quarter given or expected! Truly disgusting moves took place and honestly, that's why we love MTG!

So easter went by, a Brass Man was delivered and as it happened once it will happen again.

Overprinted Wall of Shame

 This entry here is like the evergreen wording on cards, will be here forever and will be updated as more and more illegal cards are played or tried to be played at an Overprinted tournament (casual play is none of our bussiness after all XD).

But guys seriously, check the legal list, if you don't know what cards where printed on Revised, Fallen Empires, 4th edition or Chronicles... Heres a comprehensive list, if you look for it an it's not there it's not legal!

Overprinted International Invitational Tournament 2025

 Another year another Overprinted tournament!

We ended 2025 on a high note regarding overprinted, with the 2nd International Invitational Tournament organized by Chiki.

14 players from around almost any community battled their wits out until only one emerged as the supreme champion of the year!

That is... after some frugal lunch to better use our brains!

We saw all manners of decks, different approaches to Erhnamgeddon, Pink Weenie, Mono Black discard, Reanimator, Mono red Goblins… You name it!

This years winner, Joserra, played a ruthless deck and made an overall 12 points outta 12. See him here holding the prized Brass Man!

Second place was for Guille and his deck, as we think it was a beautfil deck, well rounded and masterfully played!

PS: Yes we noticed some illegal cards on the pics but these were taken beforehand and everything was fixed before we started ;)

As the preceding year this tournament will be played in the Basque Country!

Channel and fireball needs a bit more time

 One of the most infamous combos in MTG is not possible to pull on T1 anymore when you're playing overprinted but... you can make it happen by T2, either with the help of that nifty Fallen Empires land:

A 5 card combo tho...

Or you might pull it using a mana dork, be the original elf dude or birds of paradise:

Making it a 6 card combo if you like to live dangerously!

The spirit guides sadly will have to wait several editions to exist :).

Either way, specially if you started the game, you have a nice chance at full charred opponent by T2!
